Load requirements: If the pond needs to withstand high water pressure (such as deep water ponds), it is recommended to combine with design verification to determine the thickness, but 1mm is usually suitable for most conventional ponds (depth ≤ 3 meters).

Cautionary Notes for Use

I. Pre-construction Preparation

Substrate Preparation

Thoroughly clean the bottom of the pool and the surrounding area of debris, remove stones, tree roots, sharp protrusions, etc., to avoid puncturing the liner.

Level and compact the substrate. If it is sandy or loose soil, a 10-15cm thick layer of fine sand or geotextile can be laid as a buffer layer. Environmental temperature

Avoid construction at extremely low temperatures (<5℃) or high temperatures (>35℃). Low temperatures may cause the materials to harden and become brittle, while high temperatures may accelerate the softening and deformation of the materials.

II. Laying and Installation

Laying direction

Try to lay along the length of the pool to reduce transverse joints; if splicing is necessary, the overlap width should be ≥15cm. Use hot-melt welding or special adhesives to ensure the joints are firm and leak-free.

Reserve expansion allowance

Consider the thermal expansion and contraction characteristics of the materials. When laying, reserve 10-20cm at the top of the pool wall and fix it with strips or concrete to avoid water level changes pulling the liner.

Pipe handling

If there are inlet and outlet pipes in the pool body, use special accessories (such as saddle joints) at the opening of the liner to seal, ensuring a tight interface and preventing water from seeping into the base.

III. Use and Maintenance

Avoid sharp contact

Do not use sharp tools (such as hoes, shovels) on the liner surface. The fishpond should avoid excessive fish and shrimp density, which may cause the pool bottom to be too thin and hard objects to protrude.

Control water level and load

The conventional 1mm thickness is suitable for ponds with a water depth of ≤3 meters. For deeper ponds, assess the water pressure risk; avoid overloading and stacking heavy objects (such as stones, equipment) directly on the liner.

Regular inspection

Inspect at least once a year, focusing on joints, pipe interfaces, and wear-prone areas. Repair any damages with patches of the same material (the repair area should be larger than the damaged area by more than 5cm).

Chemical substance protection

Avoid contact with strong corrosive solvents (such as concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated alkali). When using disinfectants in aquaculture, control the concentration to avoid long-term high-dose direct spraying on the liner surface.

IV. Winter Protection and Extreme Weather

Winter protection: Before the pond in northern regions freezes, lower the water level below the liner or take ice-breaking measures to prevent ice expansion from squeezing the liner and causing cracking.

Wind resistance and sun protection: For open-air ponds, ensure the liner edge is firmly fixed to prevent strong winds from lifting it. For long-exposed areas, cover with floating plants or shading nets to delay UV aging.

V. Environmental Protection and Recycling

Avoid burning waste materials during construction. HDPE materials can be recycled. The retired liner should be handed over to professional institutions for processing to reduce environmental pollution.
