In the heart of the Pamir Mountains, where the air is thin and the terrain unforgiving, a landmark water conservancy project is bringing new hope to local communities—the Aranbaotai Reservoir in Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County. Standing at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, this critical infrastructure project, a key part of Kashgar Prefecture’s 14th Five-Year Plan, would not have been possible without the high-performance composite geomembranes supplied by Haoyang Environmental Co.,Ltd.

Completed in September 2025 after two years of construction, the Aranbaotai Reservoir boasts a total storage capacity of 4.03 million cubic meters, with a total investment of approximately 479 million yuan. Tasked with providing the core anti-seepage materials for the reservoir, Haoyang Environmental Technology (Shandong) Co.,Ltd, a subsidiary of Haoyang Environmental, rose to the unique challenges of plateau construction that would have stymied many other suppliers.

The Pamir Plateau’s harsh conditions presented a trifecta of obstacles: extreme cold, oxygen deprivation, and frozen soil construction. These factors demand materials that can withstand drastic temperature fluctuations, resist cracking in frigid environments, and maintain impermeability even when laid on unstable, frozen ground. Haoyang’s solution—a full-reservoir composite geomembrane anti-seepage system—was custom-engineered to meet these demands. The composite geomembranes, crafted with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) as the core material, deliver exceptional tensile strength and low-temperature flexibility, ensuring no seepage even in the plateau’s unforgiving climate. What’s more, Haoyang’s on-site technical team provided round-the-clock support during installation, offering guidance on laying techniques adapted to frozen soil, and ensuring the geomembrane was seamlessly welded to create a watertight barrier.
