"Hao" Engineering丨Metal Smelting Project Case Sharing
Nickel ore hydrometallurgy project
Geosynthetics have many applications in mineral smelting projects, mainly in the following scenarios:
Foundation treatment and reinforcement:
In the early stage of project construction, the foundation treatment of the site is a very important link. Geosynthetics can be used to enhance the bearing capacity of the foundation. For example, laying geogrids and other materials on soft soil foundations can disperse the load of the superstructure, reduce the uneven settlement of the foundation, and provide a stable foundation for subsequent engineering construction. This can ensure that all kinds of buildings, structures and production equipment in the mineral project can operate safely and stably.
Slope protection:
The slopes in the mining area need to be protected to prevent geological disasters such as landslides and collapses. Geosynthetics can be used for slope reinforcement and protection, such as using geotextiles, geomembranes and other materials combined with vegetation to protect the slopes ecologically. This method can not only enhance the stability of the slope, but also play a role in greening the environment and reducing soil erosion.
Tailings pond project:
The tailings pond is a place for storing tailings after mineral processing in a mineral project, and its safety is crucial. Geosynthetics can be used for anti-seepage and drainage projects in tailings ponds. For example, geomembranes are used for anti-seepage treatment to prevent harmful substances in tailings from leaking into the surrounding environment; at the same time, geodrainage materials can effectively remove the accumulated water in the tailings pond, lower the water level of the tailings pond, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the tailings pond.
Road engineering:
In the mining area, a large number of roads need to be built to facilitate the transportation of ore, equipment and personnel. Geosynthetics can be used for road base reinforcement and road surface reinforcement. For example, laying geotextiles in the road base can improve the strength and stability of the base and reduce deformation and damage of the road; adding geogrids to the road surface can enhance the road surface's crack resistance and extend the service life of the road.
