"Hao" Project - Salt Lake Lithium Extraction Project

The anti-seepage construction of the 10,000-ton battery-grade lithium carbonate project for the green comprehensive development and utilization of Zabuye Salt Lake in Tibet has been completed.

Zabuye Salt Lake is the world's third largest lithium salt lake, with a lithium resource of 2 million tons. It is the only salt lake in the world that can produce lithium carbonate without chemical refining.

The project covers a total area of 571.15hm², with a total investment of 218,209,370 yuan. The production scale after the completion of the project: 9,600 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 2,400 tons of industrial-grade lithium carbonate; 156,000 tons of industrial-grade potassium chloride.

Since the project started construction in June 2022, colleagues in the engineering department of Haoyang Environmental Technology (Shandong) Co., Ltd. have overcome many unforeseen difficulties and problems in the plateau environment, carefully organized, forged ahead, faced difficulties, strengthened innovation, and overcome the problems of poor natural conditions in the plateau, relatively lack of infrastructure such as water, electricity, and communications, difficulties in transporting equipment and materials, high construction difficulty, and shortage of human resources at an altitude of 4,500 meters. The anti-seepage engineering task was successfully completed. The biggest technical highlight of the project is "zero pollution and zero water consumption", which will not bring new substances into the salt lake, and at the same time, it produces fresh water by itself and does not consume water resources.
