On May 28, 2025, the 2025 National Hydrometallurgy Innovation Technology Development Forum with the theme of "Green Drives the Future and Intelligently Leads Hydrometallurgy" was grandly held in Wuhan. As a leading enterprise in the field of domestic environmental protection engineering materials, Haoyang Environment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Haoyang Environment") was invited to attend the meeting, and the company's engineer Li Hongzhen made a special report on "Application Research of Environmental Protection Engineering Materials in Hydrometallurgical Anti-seepage Engineering", providing innovative solutions for the green transformation of the industry.
Focus on the innovative application of environmentally friendly materials to solve the problem of hydrometallurgical anti-seepage
In the field of hydrometallurgy, the risk of leakage of heavy metal solutions during the production process has long restricted the sustainable development of the industry. Relying on years of innovation and accumulation, Haoyang Environment's independently developed "geomembrane for hydrometallurgy" has become the core highlight of this report. The report shows that by optimizing the antioxidant system, the material has shown significant advantages in strong acid, strong alkali, and strong oxidation (hydrogen peroxide, ozone) environments. After 60 days, the OIT retention rate is as high as more than 95%, and the mechanical properties (strength, elongation) retention rate exceeds 95%. The anti-degradation ability is comprehensively improved, and it can withstand extreme chemical corrosion and oxidation synergistic destruction for a long time.
Li Hongzhen emphasized in the report: "Anti-seepage engineering is the lifeline of green production in hydrometallurgy. The innovative environmentally friendly special anti-seepage materials we produce not only meet the strict requirements of GB 18597-2023 "Hazardous Waste Storage Pollution Control Standards", but also in the future, modular construction processes, robot welding, anti-seepage material intelligent monitoring systems, high-performance nano-composite membranes and other means will be used to promote the industry towards the goal of intelligence."

During the forum, the Haoyang Environmental booth presented more than 20 kinds of special anti-seepage materials for hydrometallurgy and various complex scenarios, including acid-alkali resistant geomembranes, anti-clogging three-dimensional composite drainage nets, powdered sodium-based bentonite waterproof blankets, high-performance spray anti-seepage materials and other 6 categories, covering the entire hydrometallurgical scene such as red mud dumps, tailings ponds, and leaching ponds.
The forum was co-organized by Northeastern University, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, and the editorial department of Hydrometallurgy, bringing together more than 300 representatives from scientific research institutes, design units and industrial chain companies.
