Haoyang Environmental Drives Circular Economy with Recyclable Geosynthetics

2025/10/27 14:39

Haoyang Environmental Co., Ltd. has launched its "ReGen Geosynthetics" initiative, a pioneering program to recycle end-of-life geomembranes and geotextiles into new construction materials. The initiative aligns with China’s "Dual Carbon" goals and positions Haoyang as a leader in sustainable infrastructure.

Closing the Loop: From Waste to Resource

The ReGen process converts used HDPE geomembranes into granules, which are blended with virgin resin to produce geotextiles with 85% recycled content. Testing by the China Academy of Building Materials confirms that these fabrics maintain 90% of the tensile strength of non-recycled alternatives, meeting ASTM standards for filtration and separation.

Industry Collaboration and Standards Development

Haoyang co-authored the GB/T 50290-2023 National Standard for Geosynthetic Applications, establishing guidelines for recycled content verification. The company also partners with Tsinghua University’s School of Environment to develop AI-driven quality control systems for geotextile manufacturing.
